GORNAL Athletic need to take advantage of forthcoming back-to-back home games, says manager Andy Wyton.

The relegation-threatened Midland Alliance team will face rivals Tipton Town tomorrow before welcoming Alvechurch to Garden Walk this Saturday.

After Gornal lost 3-2 away to Coventry Sphinx last Saturday, Wyton thinks the next two fixtures offer the perfect chance to get back to winning ways.

"We need to start winning some matches," he said. "We have two home games coming up and I think we should be looking to get some points from them."

Wyton blamed individual errors for Gornal's loss last weekend and is calling for those mistakes to be eradicated if the Peacocks are to survive.

He added: "We gifted Coventry all of their goals last weekend. You can't do that at this stage of the season and expect to win games and stay up. But, overall, we have been playing well and are not having trouble scoring goals. We need to turn that play into points.

"I think we need to pick up another nine points to stay up. The next two home games offer the perfect opportunity to get some points towards that aim."

Tomorrow's game against Tipton will see the return of former manager Ian Rowe, who led the club to promotion and a number of cup runs before resigning last year.
