DUDLEY Town took a big step towards setting up a FA Cup derby clash against Stourbridge.

The Robins beat Bolehall Swifts 2-1 on Saturday in the Extra Preliminary Round of the competition thanks to goals from Steve James and Kyle Smith.

They will now face Market Drayton a week on Saturday with the winner handed a tie against the Glassboys.

Chairman Steve Austin said: "It is great for the team to progress and have another fixture to look forward to in the coming weeks. The money that the cup brings in will also help the club.

"We now have the added prize of facing Stourbridge should we manage to get the better of Market Drayton."

After a loss on the opening day of their league campaign, Town picked up their first point thanks to a 2-2 home draw against Haughmond last Wednesday.

They will now return to league action against Pegasus Juniors at home on Saturday and Gornal Athletic away on Monday.

"It doesn't get any easier for us but w can't hide away. The main thing is that we continue to show improvement as the weeks go on," added Austin.
