CRADLEY skipper Tom Perry is facing a race against time to be fit for their crucial weekend.

The Albrighton racer was involved in a heat two horror crash as he guested for King’s Lynn in their SGB Premiership clash with Wolverhampton at Monmore Green on Monday.

Perry suffered an arm injury and the Motor Market Heathens now face an anxious wait to see if he will be fit to take his place in their line-up with three meetings in the space of four days.

They will head to Belle Vue in the first leg of their Knockout Cup quarter-final on Friday (7.30) before a crucial away clash at Mildenhall in the National League on Sunday (3pm).

Their hectic few days will come to a conclusion as they host Eastbourne at Monmore Green on Monday (7.30).

And Perry knows this set of fixtures is crucial if they are to retain any hopes of salvaging some silverware from a disappointing season.

Speaking before his crash, Perry said: “They’re all big meetings for us, and we need to get the wins if we want to get any silverware this season.

“Belle Vue will be a tough one on Friday, they’re going really well at home but we’ll try to get the best result possible to give ourselves a chance before the second leg.

“Mildenhall on Sunday is a massive one as well, and we need to go there and take four points to give us a chance of making the play-offs.

“They’re one of the teams who could catch us so if we could go there and win it’d be a big result, and I’m sure all the lads will be giving it their all.

“We’ve had some tough away meetings this year, but we go into every match trying to win and all the boys will give it their all.

“Everyone wants to score points and do well for Cradley, so hopefully we can get the job done over the weekend.

“We’ve got another hard home meeting against Eastbourne on Monday as well, but we did well at Monmore last time and there’s no reason we can’t get three more points if we keep that up.”
