ASSISTANT boss Matt Clarke says Halesowen Town must use the win over Matlock to ignite their push for Northern Premier League survival.

The Yeltz won 3-2 at The Grove last Saturday as Roland Agbor, Spencer Weir-Daley and Lee Knight all fired home to hand the hosts a massive three points.

They now sit three points above bottom-placed Sutton Coldfield and have also played a game less than their relegation rivals.

Clarke said: "The result was better than the performance but the important thing at this stage of the season is picking up wins.

"We want to be winning our home games and it was massive for us to be able to do that.

"It was a huge game, especially because it was one of the games that we'd pencilled in as very winnable for us.

"Hopefully we can now use the lift from the win to carry us forwards.

"It's easier said than done but we're going to be working very hard to try and build on that.

"We have a small squad but the dressing room has a real togetherness about it.

"This win could be huge for us and it's important we take all the positives we can."

Hales will now look to back up the Matlock success when they travel to 18th-placed Coalville Town this weekend.

Clarke added: "This Saturday's game at Coalville will be another tough one but if we can prepare in the right way and and do the right things then there is no reason we can't take something from it.

"One thing we do need to do is be a lot more competitive on the road. Now we have that opportunity."

The Yeltz have more selection options with the return from injury of Brad Lewis as well as Dan Bragoli and Marcus Poscha both available following suspension.

Meanwhile, Halesowen have named former player and youth team manager Keith McKenna as the joint investor helping to buy the club.

McKenna joined with chairman Karen Brookes to put an offer to the current owners, the Lynch family, for the sale of the Yeltz.

That sale is now in the hands of solicitors with hopes the deal will go through by the end of March.

Birmingham-based businessman McKenna is no stranger to Yeltz fans and has recently brought success to the club's youth team when gaining promotion last season to the Midlands Floodlit Youth League Premier Division.
