TIVIDALE boss Dave King thinks his players could benefit from the recent raft of postponements.

Heavy snowfall again meant Tivi's clash with Wellington Amateurs was called off last Saturday.

However, King thinks the break could work in his side's favour as they chase West Midlands Premier League promotion this season.

He explained: "The weather could have a big say in how the end of the season works out. There are a lot of teams, including ourselves, who are going to have to fit a lot of games in.

"It won't be easy but having a break recently could help us.

"We've given the players the time off because I just felt they were looking a little drained during the Wednesfield defeat and weren't playing with the same intensity.

"They maybe needed the break and the chance to recharge their batteries.

"We don't have the biggest squad and sometimes you do just need that break from football to refocus and get ready to go again."

Dale are due to face Black Country Rangers at the Beeches on Tuesday night before a trip to Bilston Town this Saturday.

"Hopefully we come back fresh and we can hit the ground running for the end of the season," added the boss.

"We want to get back to winning ways and build some momentum again."

The break has also allowed Dan Bryson, Freddie Watts and Brad Welding the chance to recover from injury.
