BLACK Country Rangers can rest easy in the knowledge they are unlikely to be involved in any fixture congestion this season.

With just eight more West Midland League Premier Division games remaining, Rangers find themselves marking time while their fellow promotion rivals face a potential fixture pile-up.

Rangers must wait until March 17 when they face their next league opponents with an away trip to Wednesfield.

Rangers' secretary Andy Harris said: "It can work both ways. At the moment we'd probably like a few more games to play.

"Some of our players do turn out for Sunday sides, but they're in the same boat."

Rangers were due to meet title rivals Tividale this week but Harris admitted the game was unlikely to take place owing to the pitch being flooded at Packwood Road.

He added: "We were told at the start of the week that Tividale's pitch was waterlogged and their drainage isn't the best.

"With no fixture scheduled for this Saturday, I'm sure the manager will have the players in for training instead."
