DUDLEY Kingswinford need a bonus point win this Saturday to secure a home play-off game against Syston.

DK will welcome Lutterworth to Heathbrook for the final game of the regular season (3pm kick-off) as they aim to better the points tally of their East counterparts.

They remained on course for a home promotion decider after leaving it late to beat Melbourne last weekend.

Neil Shillingford's men fought back to win 19-14 to leave them within striking distance with one game to go.

Failure to bag the bonus point was enough to confirm Burton as Midlands One West champions.

However, the director of rugby is now determined to secure the bonus point victory over Lutterworth ahead of this year's play-off game.

He said: "To be able to play the play-off game at home would be a massive bonus.

"It would also make the efforts we have all put in over the last few weeks worth it.

"We'd have liked the bonus point against Melbourne but we'll have to get it against Lutterworth now.

"If we do that then we'll set-up another big game at Heathbrook, which will be great for the club."

On the narrow Melbourne victory, he added: "We heard it was going to be a narrow pitch up there but it was even tighter than we expected.

"We struggled to find space and they were fighting for their lives.

"We were 14-0 down with 20 minutes to go but found a way to win it. Sometimes you just have to be pleased to come away with the win."

DK have no injury concerns ahead of the weekend.
