Halesowen's Jordanne Whiley warmed up for a series of back-to-back tournaments in Florida this month by claiming a memorable double in France.

The 15-year-old tennis star claimed the Women's Singles and Women's Doubles at the Open Amphion-Publier last weekend to take her 2008 tally of international titles to eight.

The Earls High School pupil began the season by successfully defending her Junior Masters Singles and Doubles titles in Tarbes and following her return to France for last week's ITF 3 Series tournament in Amphion she has earned herself a return to the world's top 30 after clinching her third senior singles title of the 2008 NEC Wheelchair Tennis Tour.

World ranked 32 last week and the third seed in Amphion, Whiley met Spanish second seed Lola Ochoa in the singles final.

Ochoa had narrowly won the pair's only previous meeting in Madrid last year, but this time Whiley produced a polished performance to clinch the points that counted and secured a 6-4, 7-5 victory Prior to Sunday's singles final Whiley and Ochoa had been on the same side of the net as they wrapped up victory in the Women's Doubles on Saturday. A 6-2, 6-2 victory on Friday over Russian duo Ludmila Bubnova and Natalia Bakhmatova earned Whiley and Ochoa a place in the final against the all-British duo of Louise Hunt and Susan Paisley, a contest they won 6-2, 6-1.
