Hopes of a good run in the FA Vase came to an end for a quartet of borough clubs with Lye Town, Tividale, Dudley Sports and Gornal Athletic all being dumped out of the competition.
Lye crashed out of the competition after going down 3-0 away at Midland Combination outfit Southam United in a replay.
The side's played out an entertaining 3-3 draw at Stourbridge Road on Saturday.
The home side were in complete control at 2-0 up but the sending off of goalkeeper Tom Houghton turned the game round with the visitors levelling the scores in the dying minutes.
Lye will hope to bounce back in the league on Saturday when they welcome Goodrich.
Tividale travelled to Derbyshire to play Borrowash Victoria with a host of first team regulars missing and came away with a 3-1 defeat.
Although doing well in the West Midlands Premier, Tivi have been dumped out of the FA Cup and Vase at the first time of asking.
Manager Ross Hill said: "It was always going to be tough with the players we had missing but the three lads who made their debuts did well.
"It's disappointing to go out so early in this competition because a good cup runis always nice, but we must now concentrate on our league form which we have always made our priority."
The Beeches based side travel to Bustleholme on Saturday (3pm kick off) and it is expected Andy and Adam Checketts, Luke Reynolds, Andy Dickens and Martin Hill will all be available for selection.
Dudley Sports also lost on their travels when they went down 3-2 away at Friar Lane & Epworth.
The visitors were 1-0 up through James Beddard but the home side hit back and scored two goals in quick succession.
Sports settled again and were back on level terms through defender Matt Taylor.
With a replay looking likely Friar Lane pinched a deflected winner to book the place in the next round.
Sports bounced back form the defeat with goalless draw at home to Ellesmere Rangers on Tuesday.
On Saturday Sports will play host to top of the table Bridgnorth Town (3pm kick off).
Gornal Athletic also exited the Vase after losing 2-0 at Hinkley Dynamoes.
Meanwhile, Causeway faired no better in the Midland Alliance after going down 2-1 to Tipton Town at the War Memorial on Tuesday.
United will now hope for more success in the FA Cup when they travel to Belper on Saturday.
Brierley and Withymoor will also be looking for FA Cup success when they host Market Drayton at the Grove on Sunday (3pm kick off).
