Lye Town were the surprise winners of the weekend in the West Midlands Premier Division after hammering high-flying Tividale 3-1 at Stourbridge Road thanks to goals from Ashley Greenaway, Lee Edmunds and Mark Whitehouse.

Geoff Moss' side will again be at home this Saturday when theyhost Wolverhampton Casuals (3pm kick off).

Dudley Town took full advantage of Tivi's slip up at Lye to move above them in the table.

The Robins are now flying high in third position following their 2-1 win away at Goodrich.

After falling a goal behind against the run of play Dudley showed their title credentials with two late strikes from Daniel Ashton and Justin Nesbitt.

Manager Dean Whitehouse said: "They took the lead against the run of play but we came back well to pick up a deserved three points.

"I was very happy with the way we performed because at times it was probably the best football we've played all season."

Whitehouse admitted he still hadn't finished in the transfer market and was on the lookout for a combative midfielder.

This Saturday, Town will bizarrely play their home league game against Darlaston at Darlaston.
