On the the rise: Causeway United on the attack in their 2-1 win over Racing Club Warwick last Saturday.

Causeway United will be looking to reach new heights after they applied for promotion to the BGB League.

United currently sit fourth in the Midland Alliance and with there being a possibility the top three will be promoted the former Sunday League side could well be set to continue their incredible rise up the football league ladder.

Since they were knocked out of the FA Vase in December the War Memorial Ground tenants have been in a rich vein of form including a 2-1 home win over Racing Club Warwick last weekend.

Club chairman, Steve Hulston, believes promotion is now well within the realms of possibility.

He said: "The top three went up last year so if that was the case again this time around we could be in with a good shout.

"We've got something like 16 games left with 11 of those at home and when you consider we have only lost one home league game this season we are in a very good position.

"All we have got to concentrate on is us and winning our games and then the rest of it will take care of itself.

"I've always said I want to take this club as far as I can without a budget and that is still my aim."

This Saturday, United will welcome Boldmere St Michaels to the War Memorial ground (3pm kick off) and with Stourbridge being without a fixture the club are hoping for a big turnout.
