Boss to fight on
 |
| Show off: Action from the Dudley Town v Lye Town derby |
Tividale boss Dean Whitehouse stated he has no plans to resign after his side slipped to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Shawbury on Saturday and a 2-1 loss to Dudley Sports on Tuesday, which leaves them without a league win since January 12.
Tivi have now gone 10 games without victory in the West Midlands Premier Division, which has seen them slip down to 11th in the table.
Whitehouse took over at the Beeches at Christmas but Saturday's defeat was the first in his short tenure that he felt it necessary to question his side's desire.
He said: "We had a bit of a lock-in after the Shawbury game because I feel at the moment a few of the players are lacking that bit of desire.
"It feels to me like some of the lads are already on the beach rather than at the Beeches.
"Some people seem to be thinking about next season and a bit like Derby County are saying we will have a great team next year, but forget about that, let's just concentrate on our next match.
"I have warned them that if I don't see an improvement over the next couple of games I will throw the kids in.
"The job has been a little harder than I expected but there is no chance I will walk away from it and resign.
"No one is putting me under more pressure than myself but I believe I have the ability to turn this club around.
"It took me a couple of seasons at Dudley Town so if I could do it there I have no doubt I will be able to do it here."
Tivi are without a fixture over the bank holiday weekend.
Elsewhere Dudley Town will be hoping to re-discover the form that took them up to second in the table when they travel to Herefordshire on Saturday (3pm kick-off) to take on Wellington.
Ian Rowe and Rob Perks' men slipped to a disappointing 1-0 derby defeat at home to Lye Town on Saturday in one of their poorest performances of the season.
Lye who have been on a tremendous run over the second half of the season and claimed yet another win over their rivals courtesy of a Ashley Greenaway strike.
Geoff Moss's men currently sit sixth in the table and are nowpreparing for a Good Friday derby against Brierley Hill and Withymoor at Stourbridge Road (7.45pm kick-off).
Meanwhile, Dudley Sports are set for two tough away games over the Easter weekend.
They will travel to Goodrich on Saturday (3pm kick-off) before locking horns with Gornal Athletic at the Garden Walk Stadium on Monday (3pm kick-off).
The Peacocks are still sitting perilously close to the relegation zone after Darlaston Town inflicted a 2-0 defeat on them at the weekend.
Athletic will also be at home on Saturday when they welcome Ellesmere Rangers (3pm kick-off).
