Following a frustrating two and a half week break Stourbridge FC will be back in action this Saturday, to the delight of manager Gary Hackett.

The Glassboys will travel to Woodford United as they aim to get their promotion push from Midlands Division One back on track.

The unwelcome break has seen the War Memorial outfit drop down to fourth in the table so the boss is looking forward to getting his side back out on the pitch.

He said: "It's not ideal to go so long without a game, but we have made sure that we have kept things ticking over to ensure we will be fresh and ready for Saturday.

"The lack of action in recent weeks has been frustrating but what it does mean is that we will be recharged and refreshed for the game."

Hackett will be able to welcome back Ross Collins and Paul Danks for the Woodford game.

Also set to be involved are new signings Lee Bullimore and Ryan Broadhurst.

Bullimore has been on board for a couple of weeks while Ryan will join his brother Leon in the Stourbridge squad after being snapped up from league rivals Stourport Swifts.

Hackett is looking forward to working with the pair of forwards.

He added: "We have a number of options up front now with Ryan and Lee now on board.

"Ryan has a lot of potential and is very keen to impress."

Ruled out of the Woodford clash are Mark Bellingham, who is expected to be missing for the rest of the campaign after undergoing knee surgery and veteran defender Morgan Brookes, who is on holiday.

Meanwhile, Hackett has been delighted to see striker Rob Taylor getting goals as well as games for Causeway United.

The Glassboys frontman has been dogged by injury for the last two seasons but in a bid to get him back to full fitness the manager has allowed him to join their War Memorial tenants.

Causeway continued their excellent home record with a convincing 4 - 1 win over fellow high-fliers Boldmere in front of their second highest league gate of the season with Taylor finding the net for the second consecutive match.

Taylor is set to remain with United for a little bit longer to the delight of boss Carl Burley.

He said: "Rob's staying with us until Stourbridge decide they want him back - although Gary has indicated to us that might be sometime in February. Even though he's not fully fit, his quality comes through."

Causeway will look to maintain the pressure on the top three with another home victory this Saturday (3pm kick-off) when they welcome Leicestershire outfit Barwell to the War Memorial Ground.
