WITH all the recent attention focused on Worcestershire's bowling attack, today is a chance for the batsmen to take the limelight.
The County face Leicestershire at home (11am) at the start of a two-day match against the Foxes split between New Road and Grace Road.
The two-day friendly was scheduled to be played in the East Midlands, but ironically the Grace Road outfield is waterlogged, while flood-plagued New Road is playable.
Leicestershire originally called today's play off but, after discussions, the two counties have agreed to spend 96 overs batting on their home pitches to ensure that the friendly goes ahead.
"It was good to get out there on Tuesday," said veteran batsman Ben Smith, who will be hoping to do better than he did on Tuesday when he was out for a duck.
"The wickets at this time of year are seamer friendly, but that is good for us batsmen as it keeps you on edge."
Admission for today's game at New Road is free.
