KIDDERMINSTER Victoria claimed a five-wicket victory over a Worcestershire Academy XI.

With three balls to spare, Kidderminster's Chris Pyke smashed a big six to secure the win for the Chester Road North side.

The County youngsters put on 159-4 in their 35 overs with Holland international Alexei Kervezee top-scoring with 64, while Nitesh Patel added a fine half-century.

Neil Pinner, who is usually part of the County's academy side, top-scored for Kidderminster with 64, while he was supported by Craig Wood (46).

Brett D'Oliveira (3-22) and Richard Jones (2-6) were the pick of the bowlers.

Meanwhile, Worcestershire County Cricket Supporters' Association have organised a coach to Bristol on Sunday for the Friends Provident Trophy game at Gloucestershire.

The coach will depart from Kidderminster at 9.15am and Worcester at 9.45am. For more details, call 01905-424739.
