WORCESTERSHIRE'S seamers had a good day at the Chelmsford in their pre-season friendly as they skittled Essex out for just 179.
The two-day match in the south east saw Simon Jones, Gareth Andrew and Mehraj Ahmed take two wickets apiece, while Kabir was once again the pick off the seamers with 3-22 off 17 overs. Gareth Batty took the other wicket.
After Monday's debacle at Edgbaston, where Worcestershire's bowlers were put to the sword by a ruthless Warwickshire, this was just the kind of response Steve Rhodes would have been looking.
Richard Jones continued his good pre-season for the New Road side as he only went for two runs in his four overs, which included three maidens.
At the close of play last night, the County were 30-1 off 10 overs with Stephen Moore dismissed for one, while Daryl Mitchell and skipper Vikram Solanki were unbeaten on 25 and one respectively.
