WORCESTER Warriors academy coach Ryan Watkins will be heading up the rugby department at National League Two North outfit Luctonians next season.
Watkins will be the new head coach of the north Herefordshire club and continue in his role at Sixways as the AASE (Achieving Academic and Sporting Excellence) manager.
Luctonians’ current director rugby Alex Davidson is being made redundant and leaves Mortimer Park on May 1.
Davidson cut his rugby teeth at Luctonians before becoming Birmingham & Solihull Rugby Club's most capped player.
He rejoined Luctonians in 2010 but club chairman Simon Whiteman said the position of director of rugby was no longer required.
Watkins has been serving as Luctonians’ backs coach and will now take on the role of head coach.
Luctonians will face Scunthorpe in their penultimate game of the season on Saturday at Mortimer Park.
Watkins joined Warriors as AASE Manager in the summer of 2014 after having previously worked as a PE teacher at Malvern College from 2010 to 2014.
Watkins studied sports coaching science at the University of Worcester and completed his teaching course at Buckingham University.
