TIGHTHEAD prop Nick Schonert has been ruled out for three months with an ankle injury, say Worcester Warriors.
The South African-born front rower sustained the injury in the opening moments of Warriors’ 24-10 loss to Wasps earlier this month.
Director of rugby Gary Gold initially feared Schonert had broken his ankle after he left the field on a stretcher.
But he later revealed the 25-year-old had “badly” ruptured two tendons and Warriors confirmed he would be out until late December.
Gold is currently looking to sign a tighthead as cover for the injured Schonert.
But Biyi Alo impressed in the number three shirt in Warriors’ 41-10 defeat to Exeter Chiefs last Friday.
