WORCESTERSHIRE have the leading run-scorer in County Championship Division Two and three bowlers in the top six of wicket-takers.

Daryl Mitchell took his run tally to 1,138 this summer after scores of 58 and 34 in the six-wicket win over Leicestershire at New Road.

The 33-year-old has hit six centuries for his best haul in a season alongside three fifties.

Mitchell leads the way from Leicestershire skipper Mark Cosgrove (1,031) with Joe Denly (Kent) on 1,013.

On the wicket-taking front Worcestershire skipper Joe Leach is leading the way with 63 scalps in 13 matches despite managing a slight side strain for the past two matches.

He is just two short of last season’s tally of 65 victims achieved in 16 games.

Also in the top six are County paceman Josh Tongue (45) and all-rounder Ed Barnard (43).

Sandwiched in between are Liam Norwell (Gloucestershire) with 58, Sussex’s Jofra Archer on 58 and Kent’s Darren Stevens on 57.
