AN unchanged Worcestershire Rapids side will be looking to keep setting the pace in the North Group of the Royal London One-Day Cup when they visit Durham Jets today.

Rapids are the only team in the division to still have a 100 per cent record after victories over Derbyshire Falcons at Blackfinch New Road and Yorkshire Vikings at Headingley.

They have now won 12 of their past 18 games in the competition stretching back to the start of the 2016 season.

And skipper Joe Leach will hope to continue their 50-over form against Durham who have lost their opening three games.

After gaining promotion last season, Worcestershire have struggled to adapt to life in Specsavers County Championship Division One as they sit at the foot of the table after four defeats and one draw.

But since being handed the white ball Kevin Sharp’s side have tasted success, moving to the top of their group, and Leach reckons their match-winning showings can transfer over to four-day cricket.

“Has the One-Day Cup come at the right time? It’s hard to say that it hasn’t to be honest,” Leach said.

“You look at our side on paper and it’s arguably our strongest format, the 50-over game.

“We’ve had a disappointing start to the season, there is no getting away from that.

“Fingers crossed we kick on in this tournament and then use the momentum we hopefully get and that rubs off into our four-day cricket as well.”

Sharp will select from the 11 players who triumphed in their thrilling four-run win over Yorkshire at Headingley plus paceman Josh Tongue and all-rounder George Rhodes.

Pat Brown came into the side for his List A debut for the County against the Jets after playing T20 Blast and Specsavers County Championship cricket last summer.

Ryan Davies has been added to a 14-man squad for Durham’s clash with Worcestershire at South Northumberland.

The 21-year-old wicket-keeper batsman was released by Somerset at the 2017 season but has impressed for Durham Second XI, scoring 155 against Northamptonshire this week.

Josh Coughlin and Gareth Harte have also been picked with ex-England ace Paul Collingwood, Barry McCarthy, James Weighell, Brydon Carse and Matthew Potts all missing through injury.

Rapids: Mitchell, Clarke, Head, Fell, D’Oliveira, Cox, Whiteley, Barnard, Leach ©, Morris, Brown, Tongue Rhodes.

Jets: Clark, Steel, Richardson, Latham (c), Smith, Poynter, Harte, Pringle, Rimmington, Dixon, Rushworth, Harding, Davies, Coughlin.
