WORCESTERSHIRE wicketkeeper Ben Cox will have a fitness test on Friday to determine whether he will be available to play for Rapids in the Vitality Blast clash with Northamptonshire Steelbacks at Wantage Road (6.30pm).
Cox missed the Specsavers County Championship Division One clash with Somerset at Blackfinch New Road after suffering three broken ribs.
He had bravely battled on through the opening six matches of the Blast campaign with the injury.
But Cox’s run of 76 successive Championship appearances ended because of the setback and his replacement Alex Milton scored a century on his debut in the competition.
County head coach Kevin Sharp said: “Ben is going to be having a test in the morning.
“He is a really tough old cookie. He was in a lot of pain but he feels a lot better at the moment.
“He will have a test and we will see what happens from there.”
