TOM Fell rewrote the record books as Worcestershire seconds ended their T20 programme with victory in the second of two matches with Yorkshire at Marske.

Fell hit 120 not out from 58 balls with six sixes and 11 fours as the County triumphed by 38 runs.

It beat the 100 not out by Tom Kohler-Cadmore in the short format for the seconds against Glamorgan at Kidderminster four years ago.

Fell also holds the record for the highest score by a County player in the Second XI Championship with 223 against MCC Young Cricketers at Barnt Green last summer.

The seconds finished their T20 programme with three wins and nine defeats from 12 North Division matches.

Fell’s record-breaking score helped the County declare on 209-3 after they were put into bat and he shared in a second-wicket stand of 105 in 10 overs with skipper Ollie Westbury (42).

Yorkshire lost both openers with only four runs on the board to trialists Conor Harvey and Alex Simpson.

Jack Leaning hit 56 but they closed well short on 171-9.

Harvey, who has played for Durham seconds and Northumberland, ended with 3-44.

Fell was also in good form in game one with 65 from 37 balls with two sixes and 10 fours but the seconds lost by four runs.

Opener Alex Lees hit 78 for Yorkshire out of 165-3 while Simpson and another trialist Andrew Brewster bowled tidy spells.

Fell shared in half-century stands with George Rhodes (19) and Josh Dell (33).

The County reached 116-2 in the 12th over but after Fell’s dismissal they lost momentum and closed on 161-7.
