Shane Warne has no plans to take on a consultancy role at Hampshire - but he believes former England coach Duncan Fletcher would be a "very good appointment".
Fletcher, who quit his role with England after the 2007 World Cup, has been linked with the post of overseeing the cricket set-up at the Rose Bowl.
"From afar it looked like he did a wonderful job as a coach and with Michael Vaughan he got the best out of a lot of players," Warne said at the launch of his book, Shane Warne's Century. "He could do very well for Hampshire."
He added: "I think Hampshire over the last three or four seasons have become one of the best counties in the competition.
"They struggled in the first half of the year but they showed their character and came back and could have won two competitions.
"They are a very good side and if he can add anything to that, which I am sure he can, he would be a very good appointment."
