History:

Peacock House and the Coach House were built around 1680 in the reign of Charles II. It was a public house for much of its history and A Survey of Bewdley Manor in 1785 listed the Peacock Public House as leasehold, held by Widow Johnson. The Crown Land Sale of 1870 noted 4 bedrooms, a brew house, a cellar, a parlour, a garden at rear and a pigsty! It remained a public house until 1884 when the landlord fell behind with his rent and it has remained as a private house ever since.

Situated on the banks of the River Severn and the edge of the Wyre Forest, Bewdley was once described as “the most perfect small town in Worcestershire”.
