CUTTING edge band Miss Halliwell are getting set for a big week with the release of their debut album.

The Amblecote five-piece have established themselves on the region’s live music scene with shows including a support slot with The Fall in 2007.

The album, called Die Son! Die!, will be released on Monday August 17 as a CD and DVD set which will also include a feature film of the same name.

The album was recorded at two live gigs by the band who have already been compared to groups like PIL, Radiohead and Pavement.

The movie, which was written and directed by Miss Halliwell’s leader Miles Perhower, tells the story of a man haunted by confusing visions of a young rock 'n' roll group who accuse him of attacking their lead singer on stage although he had never even seen them.

The double disc set is available to pre-order at www.myspace.com/misshalliwell, www.shabbyrecords.co.uk and also as a download from the iTunes music store.

Miss Halliwell will premiere their film at The Public in West Bromwich on Thursday September 10.
