Former Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder is twisting his melons again for a special Christmas episode of Come Dine With Me.
The singer, who braved the jungle in I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! four years ago, is joined in the Channel 4 show by former Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan, comic Mark Dolan and children’s TV presenter Kirsten O’Brien.
The channel said Shaun would put on a “Madchester Christmas with melons on the menu”, while viewers will see Helen invite the other celebrities to a “sparkly Christmas party”.
Kirsten is serving a traditional Scandinavian festive feast, while Mark hosts a Victorian-era meal of pea soup, a three bird roast and a plum duff.
Shaun, who combined chart-topping success with the Manchester band with an open and excessive drug habit, called his 2012 memoirs Twisting My Melon – a reference to a line in their 1990 top five hit Step On.
Other festive shows in the channel’s line-up include Jamie Oliver’s Christmas Crackers, a special episode of George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces and a celebrity edition of the quiz Fifteen To One.
