The October meeting of Stourton WI was our AGM. President Diane Jones welcomed the members and our guest for the evening, Janice Jones, a WI advisor.
Our secretary Sue Bell read her annual report and reminded us what a busy and successful year we had enjoyed. Sue also reported that we had won our first match in the county skittles event.
Janice Jones then talked about WI resolutions and gave us an insight as to how they are chosen. Janice then presided over the election of our new president for the coming year. Our current president Diane Jones was re-elected for a third year and we all gave our warmest congratulations.
Following this we were introduced to Yupa Bestall a beauty therapist who teaches Tai Chi.
Yupa gave a demonstration of Tai Chi and invited all of us to join in and try the exercises. We all enjoyed this gentle activity.
Our next meeting will be a social event on November 15 in the village hall at 7.30pm. Visitors will be most welcome.
