Yeltz chairman Nigel Pitt has pleaded with fans to stay patient over the appointment of a new boss after the surprise sacking of Paul Holleran.

Since the club supremo and his fellow board members decided to relinquish the former boss from his position last Thursday the club have been inundated with dozens of applications.

Pitt's now calling on the club's supporters to sit tight with him hoping to have the new man in position by the time the Yeltz welcome Bath City to the Grove on Saturday December 2.

He said: "The position of manager was advertised in last week's Non-League Paper and so far we have received a number of high quality applications.

"Me and the rest of the board will spend the weekend sieving through these applications before getting our teeth into it properly on Monday.

"After Saturday we haven't got a league game until we welcome Bath City and we hope to have the new man in by then.

"The decision on who will take charge of team affairs is massive for this club and one we must get right and is certainly not one we should rush into."

The chairman praised the efforts of the out-going Holleran and the decision to release him from his duties was a very difficult considering their good working relationship.

He also believed the new manager will have a sound base to start from thanks to the hard work of the former manager adding: "Over the last two and a half years he's achieved everything we asked for and we really appreciate that.

"I've had to give it a lot of thought but I believe I had to take this move to take the club forward and into the play-offs."

Pitt confirmed funds would be made available to the new manager and that with 28 games and 84 points still to play for the hopes of getting into the play-offs were still the main aim.
