DUDLEY Kingswinford will take great heart from their 55-0 reverse to local rivals Stourbridge ahead of this Saturday’s clash at home to Otley.
Despite the defeat, the DKs only conceded 14 points in the second half against their opponents when almost everyone was expecting the floodgates to open.
Team manager Mark Holloway insisted: “We defended extremely well in the second half and played with a great deal of heart.
“We wanted to show we’re just not laying down and letting teams trample all over us”.
Holloway remains optimistic that despite 16 straight defeats, a win will come soon and insists: “We’ll surprise someone, somewhere. There’s been a spirit and determination that still remains and we’re looking forwards, not backwards.
The DKs will wait on the fitness of a number of players, including Harry Bayliss and Jon Tideswell before naming their side to face Otley.
There’s also a chance that influential second row player Nick Murphy could return having suffered ligament damage against Chester.
