POPULAR Belbroughton hostelry The Queens remains the only pub in Worcestershire with a Michelin Bib Gourmand Award.

It's the second year running that The Queens has been featured in the coveted Michelin Guide.

The pub is run by top Midlands chef Andy Waters and his wife Beverley in partnership with Stourbridge entrepreneur Jim Driscoll.

They have been based at the pub for the past three years and Andy said: "Michelin is the number one and every chef wants to be recognised by them. But the chef is only as good as the team behind him.

"I've been very lucky because I have a great team here. My second chef has been with me for the past nine years alone and I think everyone here has been with me for a minimum of three years.

"Being awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand in the first place was a fantastic achievement and to be recognised for a second year is a proud moment."

The 49-year-old has been a chef for 33 years, winning a string of awards in the process and has been honoured by the British Culinary Association for his dedication to the industry.

Andy has also recently opened his own restaurant - Waters on the Square in Edgbaston, Birmingham.
