LYE Community Centre reopened yesterday (Thursday) after £13,000 was spent to fix the leaking roof.
The centre was closed for five days while work was carried out to renew the waterproofing to the main hall roof.
Dudley Council also took the opportunity to replace the suspended ceiling and the lighting at the Cross Walks Road centre, at a cost of around £4,000.
Chairman of the association Abdul Qadus, said: "I pleaded with the council to fix the roof because the centre is used by different community groups nearly seven days a week and I didn't want people to be sitting there with water dripping on them.
"I'm more than pleased with the work carried out, the centre is a very useful asset to the local authority and the local community."
