Yeltz 2 King's Lynn 3

Halesowen were left heartbroken after King's Lynn grabbed a last-gasp winner in a 3-2 winner at The Grove.

Matt Nolan's second goal in the dying moments ended Halesowen's long unbeaten run after the Yeltz staged a tremendous fight-back to level the scores after falling two goals behind in an exciting encounter.

The visitors made a bright start but Halesowen quickly settled to force their first corner in the 14th minute from former Scottish international wide-man Paul Devlin on his debut.

The first main save of the game came when a well directed Devlin free-kick was turned on by Gary Knight but former Albion keeper, Paul Chrichton, made a smart save and Nick Amos was just inches away from meeting Troy Deeney's cross three minutes later.

But the Linnets stunned the home crowd by taking a two-goal lead within a four-minute spell.

Nolan's looping header 25 minutes in to beat goalkeeper Chris Jay.

This lead was doubled moments later when Jack Defty scored from 20 yards with his first touch after coming on as a sub only moments earlier.

The home side did not allow their heads to drop and in the 36th minute a Devlin free-kick found Deeney free but the young shot missed with his header.

Halesowen were able to pull a goal back on the brink of half time when a well worked short corner set up defender Pierpoint to head home his first goal of the season.

The Yeltz nearly levelled the score with a Paul Devlin cross skimming the crossbar.

The home side started the second half with real purpose when an excellent cross from Deeney was met by a Matt Lewis header with Crichton producing another reflex save to tip the ball over the bar.

Lewis came close again in the 59th minute from a cross from right back Warner.

New signing Junior Brown from Chelmsley Town was then sent on by Martin O'Connor to a salvage a point but it was keeper Jay who came to the rescue with a fingertip save from Kings Lyn substitute Andrew Fisk.

Halesowen's hard work was rewarded with an equaliser after an acrobatic overhead kick from Brown on the edge of the area set up Deeney to head home from close range.

The Yeltz were now the favourites to get a winner but against the run of play a poor clearance by man of the match Knight fell for Nolan to side-step Warner and smash home a cracking drive into the top corner.
