I rose again at 7.30 after having an excellent night's sleep, Richard stated that he'd been talking to me one minute and not talking to him the next and had dropped off to sleep which is very unusual for me!! We then proceeded to get ready for the days events, prompt at 8.30. The door knocked and they wanted to take me down to the 2nd floor for a further eye examination which measured my eye to brain co-ordination. Straight after this I was taken to the 4th floor which is where the rehabilitation unit can be found. Here I received a massage on all of my body and the acupuncture. The needles were all connected to an electrical stimulas machine and this passed electrical current through all of the needles which has been inserted into my body. Sounds painful but in fact it wasn't at all After this I went onto an inversion table which allows you to stand upright for 30 mins. this felt really strange to view things at my usual standing height. I had forgotten what this felt like. As we had missed breakfast we decided to have lunch in readiness for the afternoons events, we always seem to be in a rush as treatments are always undertaken at precise timings which seems to be the norm in China. In such a short space of time we have met some really nice people, Dave and Sue from Lichfield, Lynn and Sue from Melbourne Australia also Bill and Chris from Blackburn. The two Sue's have MS and Christine I believe has suffered a stroke. We are all undergoing similar treatments, the Stem Cell ward is on the 14th floor at Nan Shan Hospital and can view all the other high rise buildings that dominate the city which is hard to believe that some 30 years ago it was just a small fishing village and is now a prominent industrial centre. It seems that every available space was used to erect these massive structures.
