First thing this morning we looked down towards the park outside of our bedroom window to see a few people undertaking Tai Chi exercises before they went off to work and start their day. We were led to believe that the weather would be cold in the evening and we would need to bring long sleeve shirts, but remarkably the weather is warm and during the day there is usually a smog over the city. After having my acupuncture today with the electrodes I found that my left arm was less stiff and in fact I could open my left hand more than before as it is always clenched tight. I just hope that it lasts. I'm off to occupational therapy just now at 2.30 and just wandering what I will have to undertake. 5.00 in the evening just came back from o/t where they massaged my arms and hands also gave me some exercises to do with my fingers then went on to have another session with the inversion table they then attached different straps and electrodes to my calf and ankles to stimulate my muscles even further. This made my muscles twitch every 3-4 seconds or so that lasted about 30 mins and then returned to our room. I'm hoping that Richard will take some video footage tomorrow and catch up on the days that I have missed filming. Richard and me went around the streets of Shenzhen to do a bit of shopping which turned out to be a bit of an eye opener, there were street beggar's, fortune tellers, trinket sales and food stalls which were all extremely dirty. Amongst the items for sale were puppies in cages, ducks that looked as though their innards at been taken out and must obviously be a Chinese delicacy. After our shopping trip we went to the hospital restaurant but our appetite after our experiences were somewhat lacking and left half of our food. We then went upstairs to try and contact home and answer all of our emails etc, we then retired to bed at around about 11pm.
