REBECCA Scott continued a family tradition when she agreed to have her locks chopped off for charity.
The 24-year-old civil servant from Stourbridge completed the deed at Market Street salon Hairways and has since donated the hair to the Little Princess Trust.
It will be blended with at least four other haircuts to help make a wig for a child who has lost their own hair through cancer treatment.
Rebecca has also raised over £850 for the homeless charity Shelter in the process and said: "I'd set myself a target of £200, but I couldn't believe how generous some people can be. I've already raised over four times that amount and there's still more money to come in."
Rebecca is the daughter of the Reverend Stuart Scott who is the minister at St John's United Reform Church in Stourbridge and the United Church, Halesowen.
He once famously had his beard shaved off at the church alter for charity.
Rebecca, who now lives in London, added: "Although I live in London, I've always regarded Stourbridge as my home because I grew up here and IK wanted to come home for this big event.
"I was expecting to pay for the haircut myself, but Hairways did it for free and then donated the cost to Shelter. I can't thank them enough for their generosity."
