PUBGOERS in Kingswinford raised almost £2,000 for a Kingswinford teenager, who suffered an almost life ending brain haemorrhage, at a recent harvest festival.
Event organisers at The Bridge Pub, in Moss Grove, held the festival in a bid to raise money for local girl Elle-Mae Davidson, who was tragically struck down with the life-altering condition three years ago.
Since the incident, a fund has been set up by her family to raise money in the hope of rehabilitating the 19-year-old.
Host of the event and Black Country fundraiser, Cedric Grove, is a friend of Elle-Mae’s grandmother and said he was so grateful for the support of all those who donated to the cause.
He said: “I would like to thank everyone who turned up and helped make the day a success. Hundreds of people came and gave their support which was great.
“The money we raised is going to go a long way in helping Elle-Mae’s family raise the £100,000 they need.
“So far they have about £60 to £70,000, which still seems like a lot, but I am going to help as much as I can and already planning to do another couple of things next year.”
