HELPING the borough’s disabled residents will be a bit easier for Access in Dudley, after the group was awarded an Awards for All grant.

The organisation which works to remove barriers that stop disabled people accessing the local community has been handed £4,220 of funds for their graphic facilitation project.

Graphic facilitation is a way of presenting information in meetings or presentations into pictures and words that makes it easy to understand.

Tina Boothroyd, chairman of Access in Dudley, said: “I would like to thank Awards for All for their generous grant to enable us to train and equip more of our members with the skills and materials to undertake graphic facilitation.

“This will allow our group to make information accessible to even more members of our community.

“The benefits will be many, particularly to those attending meetings and presentations with a learning disability.

“However, graphic facilitation makes any event easier for all to follow at a glance, and tells the story in an easy to follow picture and non-jargon format.”

The grant was part of Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All funding scheme, which offers well deserving groups a quick and easy way to get small grants of between £300 and £10,000.
