STOURBRIDGE shoppers will be able to have more choice in selecting their fruit and veg following the opening of a new High Street shop.
Family run Wardthorpes of Stourbridge hope to make an impact after moving from Brierley Hill. The shop is run by Pedmore couple Jez Ward and Caireen Wardthorpe.
Jez, who hails from Leicestershire, has 22 years of experience in the restaurant trade, working for well-known pub companies. But he comes from a fruit and veg background.
The pair opened a shop in Brierley Hill two years ago but Jez admitted: “We've always been looking to move into Stourbridge. It's Caireen's home town and we really feel it’s somewhere going places at the moment.
“Since the opening of the new Tesco store, it feels as though the town has been regenerated and it's really on the up.
“Other shops have opened and are doing extremely well, so it was just a case of finding the right location as we already had a large number of customers living in the area.”
