TWO young Wordsley scouts have achieved the highest honour in the organisation – the Chief Scout Gold Award.
The 1st Wordsley Scout Group members Edward and Rebekka Alexander, both 13, have been given the award after completing badges in various criteria set out by the Scout Association.
This criteria includes the promise challenge, community challenge, fitness challenge, creative challenge, global challenge, outdoor challenge, adventure challenge and expedition challenge.
By gaining the honour, the pair became the first scouts in the Brierley Hill Road-based troop to receive the award for about 20 years.
Group Scout leader Ian Alexander said: “We are so proud of Rebekka and Edward and all the hard work they have put in to achieve the award.
“They both joined our group when they were five-years-old and have been beaver scouts, cub scouts and are now two of around 20 scouts within our troop.
“The award is not easy to achieve and they had to complete a number of badges, which goes to show their commitment to the group.”
