A FESTIVAL of Remembrance featuring hymns and history talks will be held at Christ Church in Lye next week.
The Friends of Lye and Wollescote Cemetery are presenting the event which will take place at the High Street church on Tuesday October 17, starting at 7pm.
Sue Smith, group secretary of the Friends group, will kick off the proceedings with a slide show showcasing the activities of the Friends who give up their time to help with the care, restoration and fundraising for the gothic graveyard off Cemetery Road.
Among the historical talks will be a slide show on the war casualties at rest in the cemetery presented by Second World War veteran and historian Ray Griffiths.
There will also be a film showing of Lye Carnival 1928 presented by historian and author Pat Dunn.
