A PAIR of authors famed for their modern take on the romance novel will be making a special appearance at Wordsley Library this month.

Bella Osborne and Christie Barlow will talk about their work as romance novelists, taking questions and answers from the audience and selling signed copies of their books at the free event from 7pm on Thursday, November 23.

Christie, who lives in Staffordshire, is the author of seven bestselling novels and her latest book ‘The Cosy Canal Boat Dream’ is currently published by Harper Collins.

Her books focus on the domestic, from playground tales to countryside living, infusing each setting with warmth and humour.

She came to writing later in life, and began her career as a way of teaching her children that people should follow their dreams. The book she wrote to prove a point is now a number one bestseller in the UK, USA & Australia.

Bella, who lives in the Midlands, has been jotting down stories as far back as she can remember but decided that 2013 would be the year that she finished a full length novel.

She has now written four romantic comedies and been shortlisted twice for the RNA Contemporary Romantic Novel of the Year award – with stories are about friendship, love and coping with what life throws at you.
