A PENSNETT teenager has been given a second chance to make it into the national final of the 2017 Open Mic UK competition.

Mollie Hickman, who attends The Kingswinford School, was among a host of talented musicians competing in the South West and Midlands area final of the contest on November 25.

Despite missing out on an instant free pass through to the grand final - the 14-year-old singer, songwriter and guitarist Mollie now has a final chance to make it through...but she needs your votes.

The competitor gaining the highest number of votes in a national public text vote will be granted a wildcard to perform at the final taking place at the NEC, Birmingham, on January 20.

Recording studio time and a host of coveted music related prizes are up for grabs for the overall winner of the competition.

Voting to select the wildcard entry for the South West and Midlands area closes on Wednesday, December 6.
