MEMBERS of Stourbridge based trampoline club have been jumping for joy after making it through to the regional final of a top competition.

Dynamic young members of the Ultimate Trampoline Club, which meets at The Crystal Leisure Centre, are set to take part next month in the Zonal Trampoline Competition in Chesterfield where they will face competition from fellow trampolinists from the West Midlands, East Midlands, Wales and east of England.

Stourbridge schoolgirls Fliss Bayley, Imogen Shuttleworth and Evie Chaplin, who all attend St James's Primary School in Wollaston, are among those who have made it through to the regional final which will be held at Queens Park Sports Centre on January 21.

Fliss qualified after winning the under 11 novice champion award at Cannock Chase Leisure Centre on November 5 in the competition for West Midlands schoolchildren.

She was also crowned champion in the under 11 novice team category along with classmates Imogen Shuttleworth and Evie Chaplin.

Aaryon Hart from Stourbridge was also named under 11 novice champion, Chloe Field of Franche Primary School was crowned under 11 intermediate champion, Stourbridge's Catrise Hart won the under 14 intermediate champion award and Isabel Norton who attends Redhill School was named West Midlands under 14 elite champion - and all go through to the next round.

Emily Mae Smith who attends St Joseph’s RC School, Norton, won the second place award in the under 11 intermediate round, Ellison Hart from Stourbridge took home the second place award for the under 14 intermediate category, Martha Muir of Hagley RC High School came second in the under 19 elite round and Sophie Bradford of The Wordsley School came third in the under 19 intermediate category - and they will also progress to the regional final.

Coach Sam Shuttleworth said: “The youngsters worked very hard and we are proud that our club had so many qualify. We had some fantastic results."
