A KINGSWINFORD man suffered an arm injury after giving chase to a suspected burglar whom he confronted outside his home.

Police have launched an investigation after the incident which happened in Oakfield Avenue, Kingswinford, just after midnight in the early hours of Sunday January 7.

After hearing the sound of the garage being opened outside his property, the homeowner went out to confront a man who was standing in front of it with the door open.

The homeowner challenged the suspect and gave chase as he tried to run away – grabbing onto his sleeve as he tried to flee.

In the ensuing scuffle, both fell into a fence which left the homeowner with an injury to his elbow and the suspected burglar cut his leg.

Property from the man’s garage was later found in a neighbour’s garden.

Investigation manager Inspector Ade George said is now appealing for information about the incident and is urging people to contact him if they know someone who has an unexplained injury or anyone who has suffered damage to clothing that might have been caused by a sharp object.
