GOOD morning. We are here to provide any information on incidents that might crop up throughout the rush hour period this morning on our Black Country and North Worcestershire roads.

So far the roads across the area are pretty quiet, but there are the usual areas of traffic including congestion on A4123 Wolverhampton Road around A4034 Churchbridge (Birchley Island).

Furlong Lane in Cradley has re-opened both ways between A458 Windmill Hill and Overend Road/Butchers Lane following an unexploded World War Two grenade being found yesterday afternoon. Police and bomb disposal unit attended the scene, while some buses were delayed.

Traffic lights have failed in Halesowen on A459 Bromsgrove Road near Halesmere Way. The traffic is coping well though. These lights have been intermittently working and failing since the beginning of the week, at the McDonald's junction, opposite Fountain House.

There are also areas of planned roadworks which are causing delays, they include:

Speed restriction of 30 mph and one lane closed due to major roadworks and contraflow on M5 both ways between J1 (West Bromwich / Birmingham) and J2 (Oldbury). Work on the Oldbury Viaduct means that all traffic is sharing one side of the road as a contraflow.

One lane is also closed due to the Oldbury Viaduct roadworks on M5 northbound at J4A M42. Highways England are trying to keep M5 delays to a minimum by encouraging traffic to use M42 rather than the M5.

There is a speed restriction of 30 mph due to roadworks on A38 Stoke Road westbound in Stoke Heath between Sherwood Road and B4094 Worcester Road, while there are temporary traffic lights and roadworks on Quantry Lane near The Gutter in Bell End, Belbroughton.
