STAFF at a Kingswinford based company having been seeing red recently – but it's all been for a good cause.

Colleagues at E.ON’s High Street office have been encouraged to wear red attire in a bid to show their support for blood donors.

NHS staff have been visiting E.ON's offices throughout June in an attempt to persuade more people to become donors.

Employees have undergone tests to know their blood type and then urged to register on-line.

NHS Blood and Transport need to recruit 250,000 new donors every year to maintain the level of supply of lifesaving blood donations that are required across the UK.

Jade Chapman, marketing coordinator from NHS Blood and Transplant, said: “It’s great to have companies such as E.ON support this year’s activities and help us to highlight the importance of visiting your local blood donation office to register and start giving blood.”

Around 6,000 blood donations take place every day to treat patients in need across the country and for each donation, blood donors will save or improve the lives of up to three adults.

Anyone who would like to give blood are asked to call 0300 123 2323 or visit blood.co.uk.
