DANCERS of all ages helped to raise several thousands of pounds for good causes with a stunning ‘Summer Spectacular’ show last weekend.
The Stourbridge-based Karen Yates School of Dance put on three shows across Friday and Saturday at the Dormston Centre in Sedgley, raising around £4,000 for charities in the process.
Around 100 dance pupils – whose ages ranged from nine months to 80 years – performed a variety of numbers and were rewarded with a standing ovation from packed audiences.
Karen said: “Summer Spectacular was a huge success and everyone who attended was extremely impressed with the high standards of dance, singing and musical theatre items.”
When the final tally has been totted up, the money will be split between Dementia UK, Sunfield Special School in Clent, Discover U and missing dogs charity Dog T.A.G.
