THE National Trust is holding a recruitment fair for people interested in volunteering at the historic Kinver Edge and Rock Houses.

Existing volunteers will be on hand at the event, which will run from 11am to 2pm on Friday September 7 and Sunday September 9, to chat about what it's like to support the National Trust as a volunteer.

Members of the staff team will also be available to discuss the training that can be offered

Helen Selkirk, visitor experience officer, said: "For many of our volunteers, what they love about spending time with us is making connections – with the history of the Rock Houses, with our visitors, the incredible landscape, and the other volunteers.

"Meeting us at the recruitment fair is a great way to make that first connection."

Last year the National Trust was gifted neighbouring Kingsford Country Park so with an additional 210 acres to look after volunteers are needed more than ever to help the Trust care for habitats and footpaths at Kinver Edge - a 575-acre area of special scientific interest made up of heath and woodland and home to a number of reptile, moth and bird species.

People interested in bringing history to life and capable of making a perfect cup of tea are also sought for volunteer roles at the Rock Houses and their tea rooms.

Anyone unable to attend the recruitment fair but wishing to find out more about volunteering can email kinveredge@nationaltrust.org.uk or call 01384 872553.
