KINVER thespians are to reprise their production of Spirits of the Rock at the village's famous Rock Houses this weekend.

The New Kinver Players will return to the National Trust owned Rock Houses for shows on Saturday September 1 and Sunday September 2 - giving audiences chance to learn more about the people who lived in the historic, formerly residential caves.

Martin Ward, the society's chairman, wrote the short play which was commissioned last year by the National Trust to commemorate 100 years of ownership of Kinver Edge and the Rock Houses.

Performances will take place inside the largest of the sandstone caves, known as the ballroom, from 4.30pm and 6.30pm both days.

The tea rooms at the Rock Houses will also stay open for refreshments until 6.30pm on both days.

Tickets for the shows cost £5 and are available online from www.nationaltrust.org.uk/events, and more information can be found on the NKP website www.nkp.org.uk
