A MAN has been arrested following an overnight raid on a Stourport jewellers where thousands of pounds worth of valuables were stolen.
A burglar targeted Mantons of Stourport on High Street in an overnight raid on Tuesday January 8 and stole a handful of rings and a few pairs of earrings.
The thief, who was caught on CCTV, smashed the front window with a hammer at around 1.30am and reached into the shop displays.
He cut his hand on the glass after, leaving behind blood.
He later returned to the front window at 4.30am and continued to reach into the shop to take the valuables.
The offender was traced by police to a Stourport address and arrested at 1.40am today (Wednesday January 9).
At the time of the arrest, jewellery with an estimated worth of £3,000, was recovered from the suspects address and will be returned to the store.
